Participation is an essential aspect of your citizenship in this class. We are a community of learners, and we can't help each other learn if we do not participate fully in the classroom community.

I understand that not everyone participates in the same way. The default in many classes is that participation = saying things in class. As someone who was once a shy student, I understand that this isn't easy for everyone all the time, so I've tried to create many different opportunities for participation.

In this course you earn participation credit for the following: 1) taking part in small group activities; 2) completing ungraded freewriting; 3) attending workshopping sessions; 4) providing peer review feedback; 5) participating in reading annotations through Perusall.
